A thunderous rainy running day

Pearl Izumi slip ons (one of my favorite shoes)

Rain rain go away

I knew this would be a very interesting run.  A torrential downpour outside, excruciating back pain spasms and thunderous lightning outside……..sigh life of a triathlete.

I ended up having a pretty good run considering the conditions.  There were parts along the trail that were up to my ankles in water.  My Endurance Nation training schedule had me doing half mile wind sprints at Ocoee HS track.  Parts of the track were flooded and I had to make my way around like an obstacle course.  I forgot to enable the GPS on my Garmin, but the footpod is amazingly accurate and I didn’t realize the GPS was turned off till I got home!

It was nice wearing my Pearl Izumi slip on tri shoes too.  I hadn’t worn them in a while and with their water drainage system, they are perfect for rainy runs up to a half Ironman.  Any longer than that and I seem to need more cushion for my feet.
